Tea Leaves had a post called Criss-Cross on exchanging books on the internet.
From that post, two other services, Paperback Swap, and Bookcrossing.
Paperback Swap is interesting because you can print out "labels" which wrap the entire book. No mess, no writting, just print, wrap, and ship.

I need to check those out. Of course, there is also something called "the library" that I make precious little use of.
